The FreeDV team has recently released a new version that leverages machine learning to encode and decode speech, delivering clear digital audio in just 1.5 kHz of bandwidth—roughly half that of a standard SSB signal.
John will cover:
- How the FreeDV encoder and decoder work
- Required hardware and software
- Real-world performance and operating considerations
- The advantages and limitations of this emerging mode
