Micro Grant Program

- Eligibility and Requirements
- Additional Provisions
- Application
Applications will be reviewed by the IARC after receipt. IARC may reply with questions or suggestions for revisions to your proposal.
Once a club proposal is accepted by the IARC, the club will be required to document completion of the funded project and provide that documentation to the IARC within 12 months of fund disbursement.
The IARC expects each grant request to be presented to the IARC Micro-grant committee via Zoom at a mutually convenient time.
Successful applicants will be notified by telephone and email. Funds will be mailed to the club’s postal address unless other delivery arrangements are made in advance.
Clubs receiving a micro-grant award must send a project completion report to the IARC at micro-grant@irvingarc.org once funds have been spent and the project is substantially complete.
Progress reports are due every 90 days until the project is completed.
The final completion documentation must include:
-
Copies of receipts or invoices for all significant materials purchased with grant funds.
-
Confirmation that the project has been completed.
-
A brief statement confirming that the project is meeting its stated purpose.
-
Micro-Grants are available only to Amateur Radio Clubs holding 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
-
The IARC itself is a 501(c)(3) organization, and all micro-grants must be used for charitable purposes.
-
Each micro-grant application may cover only one project.
-
Most projects will require $1,000 or less, but larger requests will be considered.
-
Applicants must demonstrate that their club will provide at least 50 % of the total project cost.
-
Clubs may be required to show proof of financial need for the proposed project.
-
The IARC will not approve requests for full funding of any project.
Applicants must provide the following information with their proposal:
1. Club Name – The award check will be made out to this name unless otherwise arranged.
2. Club Mailing Address – Checks will be mailed here unless alternate delivery is arranged.
3. Primary and Secondary Contacts – Names, phone numbers, and email addresses of two individuals who can discuss the project. One of these individuals must be the club president.
4. Project Description – A brief explanation of the project’s purpose.
5. Budget and Cost Breakdown – A moderately detailed accounting of anticipated purchases and contracted services.
6. Timeline – Major steps and estimated completion dates.
7. Other Funding Sources – Description of other funding available or committed to the project.
8. Access or Approval Requirements – Identify any permissions or resources needed to complete the project.
The IARC may request additional information or suggest modifications to the proposal before approval.
If a proposal is rejected, it may be revised and resubmitted after six months.
Funded projects that are not satisfactorily completed may result in future grant requests being rejected.
Because IARC is a nonprofit organization, we are required to ensure our funds are used for appropriate charitable purposes. Unless other arrangements are made in writing, all completion documentation (except for invoices, receipts, or private communications) will be treated as public information and may be published on the IARC website.
We may also promote your club and your project on our website to showcase how local Amateur Radio organizations serve their communities.
