The Irving Amateur Radio Club voted tonight to cancel our Field Day operation at TW Richardson Grove park in Irving. We have a few key club members out sick and didn’t have enough committed participants to hold our event with such hot weather and poor air quality. We instead encourage club members to operate from their homes or assist other clubs (such as DARC).

We encourage members interested in observing/participating in a traditional event consider visiting the DARC Field Day and Afterglow in-person movie event — Battlefield Earth (2000) at DARC Field Day site (Johnston Outpost YMCA, 3325 Valley View Lane in Farmers Branch). The movie viewing will start around 10:30 PM on Saturday.

The Dallas Amateur Radio Club event station is indoors, with A/C. The Dallas club will be hosting a pot luck dinner, if you intend to participate in the meal please plan on donating to meal.

Have a safe and wonderful field day, however you plan to participate.
