Winter Field Day Special Event • K5M
The Irving Amateur Radio Club and the Dallas Amateur Radio Club will join with The Metrocrest Amateur Radio Society (MARS), to participate in Winter Field Day 2019, Saturday, January 26, 2019. The event starts at 1:00 PM local time and will go until midnight. Setup starts at 10:00 AM.
The group will operate from the Farmers Branch Fire Administration Building, 13333 Hutton Drive, under the common special event call, K5M.
There will be three club operating positions plus one “guest” position. The Irving club will be providing one of the main stations via an Icom 7300 radio, plus two antennas, the Outbacker and new Alpha Antennas portable whip.
Field Day operating events are a great way to network with other hams, learn new operating skills and enjoy a fun day with our wonderful hobby.
Several of us will venture up to Farmers Branch about 10AM to set up our stuff and assist elsewhere if needed. We may not stay until midnight, but probably through late evening. We would like to see a good showing of Irving hams for this event so please put the date on your calendar. Water will be provided, bring snacks and we will pool resources for a food order in the evening.
If you have any questions, please contact Tom Schuessler, N5HYP, n5hyp@arrl.net The event is sponsored nationally by the Winter Field Day Association. Also, please visit https://www.winterfieldday.com/ for information about the event. Hope to see you there!
